Essays from WWS

They say that if a man has to learn the secrets of this elusive world, let him travel. And he will return, graced with a cornucopia of happiness and enlightenment.

The world as we know it, is a very diverse plane. And that is what causes man's innate urge to travel, to be curious, and to discover. Perhaps the greatest discoveries of our time, some that are indispensable for the society, have been made by none other than men seized by wanderlust. Perhaps it is one of the greatest opportunities of this world to witness fleeting glances of beauty, moments to peep at all that this world has to offer. And that often encourages the philosopher in us.

Man is un-resting. He cannot be confined to a single way of existence. He explores. And such is his earnest curiosity that he learns from travel. Wandering down the streets of Africa may teach him the value of leading a happy life with a home and a roof above his head, and gazing down into the depths of the seas and oceans may teach him of his insignificance in the state of affairs of this giant universe. Experiencing an Aurora Borealis at the Yellowstone Caldera may teach him art and poetry, and may let him add his own contributions to all that the geniuses of this world have accumulated. For man may continue inventing, but nature remains alluring.

Christopher Columbus discovered one of the most powerful countries on Earth. The will to travel had urged him on. Our science, our astronomy, is built upon the founding of Portuguese sailors that set out to capture the secrets of this enigmatic world. Our astronauts went adventuring into space, developing science for the future of mankind.

All that the un-resting thought of man has created is buried all across this globe as ruins or perhaps in the silver haired wisdom of a poor hunched fisherman. Man is opinionated, and travelling allows you to experience those opinions, to understand the beauty of having a broad mind. Slowly, that wisdom, not being spoken by tongues, but mixed in with the musty breeze of hills, enriches us and our lives. How much in this world could be changed if we could the value of simplicity from nature.

Travelling is not perhaps a journey by a vehicle or a mission. It is an adventure that you embark on. An adventure to understand the meaning of your life, an experience to get to know yourself better.
