Glance

Look up to the heavens,
stare at the enveloping darkness,
feel the melancholic beauty of it;
and then see the stars.

Look at the scene around you,
little droplets misting on your skin,
the dreary fog surrounding everything;
a magnificent rainbow to top it all.

Look at the storm,
the ominous rumble of thunderous clouds,
the darkness that shadows the sun;
and then at the silver lining that peeks through.

Look at the thunder that envelopes you,
Clouds on a murderous battle with a menacing roar.
Look at the flashes that surround you;
and then look up, look up and smile at the heavens. 

Look up the sheer precipice,
look down at the drop,
persevere at the torturous journey;
and then climb right up to the top.
