To the beautiful spirit of ‘Teacher’,
That resides in a selected few,
A small tribute to that rainbow,
Magnificent in every hue.
Teaching – the toughest art of life,
A collection of the greatest virtues;
Patience almost impossible to master,
Discipline that knows no excuse.
Love, that crosses all bounds,
Understanding, to see through each heart;
Years and years of seldom noticed work,
Nothing can equal teaching as the noblest art.
And for a whole year of toil,
There comes a single day
When we thank you for your selfless deeds,
We whole-heartedly try to repay.
But a day is no limit to our respect,
And in life, no matter how much we go far,
Never shall we forget the dedicated teacher
Who made us what we are.
And of one thing, Sir, you can be sure,
That when your students leave through the classroom door,
They will be wiser, kinder, better,
And remember you forevermore….

And I'm on a roll. This poem is has come in from another one of my brilliant mates, and it does look like geniuses (Eh-oh, prodigy flair spree!) are becoming more evident by the day. Teachers, as they say, always tend to leave a mark on us, and learning never goes waste. They teach us to see the good in people, to nurture their talents, as they themselves illustrate, the knowledge they impart to us carries us forward forever. And this is a tribute to their efforts, one of many, surely, but I hope it leaves an everlasting impression on your minds, like it did mine. Talents are meant to be appreciated, aren't they? ;D In more ways than one.
