Dear Diary,

They say war changes people.
They say life changes people.

But what about those who write their own lives, their own paths, their own destiny?
Some say that our lives are governed by our fates.
The others believe in the power of perseverance.

As for the wisest, their destinies are intertwined with their hard work.
But close to no one talks about creating their own roads, afraid of upsetting those who believe that each twist and turn is manifested by a shake of the Creator’s quill.

We are bound by lines and omens, and superstitions, which supposedly govern our destiny. The lines on our palm, the symbols in our surroundings, the smell of holy smoke in the air, the gems decorating our fingers, our birth-dates, the birthplace, even the longitude and latitude, have been given the exclusive right to determine where we shall reach and what we shall conquer in this lifetime, and sometimes the next.

But, what about a man who traced a line on his palm with a knife, because he was told he wouldn’t achieve what he desired?

The power to write your own destiny lies in your own hand.
Believe, and you shall achieve.
