The wind swirls
around the giant flames, burning viciously, the thin tongues eagerly lapping
away at flesh. The anguished cries go unheard, the fire viciously magnificent,
erasing any trace of existence. Fire – punishment, a boon to humankind, or
something else entirely? For this was Sati, oft a homicide.
